About Serra Club Wichita Metro
History of Serra
Serra International was founded in 1935 in Seattle. Serra was formed to promote vocations to the priesthood and consecrated religious life. Our local chapter was founded in 2003. Serra Club Metro is a part of Serra International. Our patron Saint is Father Junipero Serra who through his extensive travels in what is now California, founded many missions and brought many indigenous peoples to the Catholic faith. We are in 30 countries with over 500 clubs and 12,000 members worldwide.
