The annual Christmas Party hosted by the Downtown Serra Club was at the Spiritual Life Center. Approximately 150 Serrans gathered in the main meeting room for dinner, conversation and entertainment provided by a brass quartet from Clonmel.
Bishop Kemme was our special guest for the evening. He was presented checks to support seminarians from both clubs. Bishop gave few remarks about the recently completed capital campaign and the bright future for the diocese.

Several new Serrans were inducted at our annual New Member Induction and Installation of Officers Mass. About a 100 Serrans attended the event.
Mass was concelebrated by the 2 club chaplains, Father Michael Htun and Father Ken Schuckman. During Mass 16 new members were inducted into the 2 clubs. New members for the Metro Club were Kim Ignowski, sponsored by Vi Schuckman and Cary and DeeDee Lubbers, sponsored by Tom and Terrie Eckberg.
After Mass, members enjoyed a catered dinner at the parish hall and heard remarks from John Marstall our new District Governor. John had thoughts about how the clubs can become better in the future and some upcoming Serran events.
Both Chaplains added thoughts on the Serra organization, the new Pope and other topics.
The evening demonstrated that Serra is alive and well in the Wichita area and that our future looks bright.

Our beloved Chaplain, Father David Htun turned 50 recently so we honored him with a birthday cake at our last meeting. Congrats to 50 and many more from the Serra Club Metro!
